WE ARE THE PRESTIFILIPPO FAMILY

My journey began 29 years ago in Sicily, where I dreamt big and sought opportunities beyond the shores of Italy. In 1996, with no knowledge of English, I moved to California, driven by my desire to fulfill my very own “American Dream”. Hard work paid off just three years later when I opened Gourmet Italia, my first restaurant here in Temecula. It become a local staple. The restaurant, known for its family recipes and inviting atmosphere, is still recognized as the #1 Italian eatery in Temecula. Gourmet Italia is also where I met my wife, Charity, and where my dreams became reality.

In addition to Poggio Leano, we run several businesses, including our family-owned restaurants: Gourmet Italia, Spuntino Pizzeria, and Bottega Italia right here in Temecula, California. My wife, Charity, plays a significant role in these ventures and also manages her wish-fulfilling non-profit organization, Charity for Charity. Our daughter, Mimi, runs the Poggio Leano Beach Resort in Sicily, while our sons are pursuing higher education. Luca is studying business at Chapman University, and Logan, who is currently studying in Milan.
